Recyclist (Federal Diploma of Vocational Education and Training)
The new occupational profile was created in 2000 on the initiative of the VSMR/VSIA. Recyclists ensure that recyclable materials can be returned to the production cycle. During the three-year apprenticeship, they learn the ecological and economic requirements.

R-Suisse
The R-Suisse association brings together the occupational and specialist organisations involved in the Swiss recycling sector to promote and coordinate education and training in the recycling industry.
​
R-Suisse represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis the federal government, the cantons and other professional organisations, defines the educational objectives and content of initial and further training and makes decisions in all other areas of the Education Ordinance.

COORDINATION OF EDUCATION
OdA Waste and Raw Materials Industry
The aim of the union of the most important industry associations in the Swiss waste and raw materials sector is to present the existing training and further education programmes for the numerous stakeholder groups in a transparent manner and to coordinate the existing programmes in order to exploit synergies and supplement them where necessary.
The new challenges posed by the implementation of the "Ordinance on the Prevention and Disposal of Waste (VVEA)" in terms of training and further education in the sector are to be resolved jointly.

TAFE Association for the Training of Specialist Staff in Disposal Facilities
The purpose of the association is to organise the federally recognised professional examination "Specialist for waste disposal facilities with federal certificate" as well as preparatory courses for this professional examination.
